Summer has passed, but that doesn’t mean our dedicated housekeeping team isn’t still hard at work. You know what they say, “there’s no I in team”. This especially rings true when it comes to hospitality. So, we wanted to show them some love during Housekeeping Appreciation Week!

Our team is brimming with top-notch hospitality professionals. They’re waiting to show you the best in Mystic whether you come from afar or are enjoying a staycation. The Whaler’s Inn is always honored to be your home base while exploring our seafaring village.

 

It’s a group effort here to host an unforgettable getaway. One big piece to the puzzle of a dream vacation is our wonderful housekeepers! With every great team, comes a great leader! We also wanted to recognize the dedication and passion that our Melanie Phillips puts into spearheading the team. She has been with the Inn for almost 2 decades, first as a Front Desk Associate, then Shift Supervisor, and now as the Manager of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.

Melanie brings out the best in her team and takes pride in ensuring that all guestrooms are spotless and comfortable. Under Melanie’s leadership, The Whaler’s Inn was designated “AAA’s Best of Housekeeping” in 2020, putting us in the top 25% of 27,000 annually inspected hotels. When not here at the Inn, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially, of course, her two lovely grandchildren. Thank you for all your hard work Melanie!

Showing Love to our Team During Housekeeping Appreciation Week

Appreciation Week brings rewards for our housekeeper’s hard work, but it also brings them closer together as a team. They had fun testing their skills through collaborative challenges and games. Throughout the week each employee participated in activities like Family Feud, Giant Jenga, and complex puzzles to solve.
