Shopping in Downtown Mystic

You don’t have to stroll far from the Inn to enjoy Mystic’s incredible stores and boutiques. Shop ’till you drop amongst dozens of unique boutiques just steps from the Inn. Finding a treasure to remember your trip is simple because there are so many different shops to satisfy eclectic tastes.

Downtown Mystic is also a foodie’s paradise with cuisine from all over the world and farm-to-table mouth-watering meals. If you need to quench your thirst, try out  The Shipwright’s Daughter’s new lineup of beautifully crafted Gin & Tonic cocktails. It’s a great place to enjoy fresh seafood from our local waters as well. Executive Chef David Standridge and his team deliver an unforgettable culinary experience that will leave you wanting more.

Mystic Seaport Museum

Journey through a recreated 19th- century seafaring village, a working shipyard, formal exhibit halls, and art artifact facilities. This attraction is made up of many bustling maritime trades. From ship smiths and coopers to woodcarvers and riggers, discover how America’s maritime past shaped life today. Did you know that the buildings you can venture through aren’t replications?

Each of them are trade shops and businesses from the 1800s that were transported to The Mystic Seaport Museum from locations around New England. It’s the best way to time travel! If you prefer a different terrain, they also offer many boat tours on historic vessels.

Now that you’re in spring mode, check out their sprawling gardens. They contain hundreds of different varieties of plants that accentuate the beauty and historical context of the Mystic River. There’s something for everyone to do and see based on your interests at The Mystic Seaport Museum!

Olde Mistick Village

Enjoy a leisurely stroll through an open-air village filled with shops to suit everyone’s tastes. The village is also brimming with sweet treats. Indulge your sweet tooth with delectable goodies like magical potion drinks at The Cloak and Wand or craft melt-in-your-mouth pastries at Deviant Donuts.

Celebrate the Easter holiday! On Saturday, April 16th, the Olde Mistick Village will be continuing its Easter traditions by hosting an Easter Egg Hand Out. Families can enjoy the magic and fun of Olde Mistick Village while getting into the Easter spirit with free candy-filled Easter eggs available throughout the village. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Don’t forget to stop by the gazebo for photos with the Easter Bunny!

Denison Homestead

The Denison Homestead is gorgeous all year round, but it’s especially gorgeous this time of year. The property is encircled by a burst of beautiful hues of white and yellow. Hundreds of daffodils surround the historic building and lead to nature walking trails. The building is currently open by appointment only. But feel free to explore the nature center on its grounds.

The Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center is a combination wildlife sanctuary, natural history museum, and educational facility highlighting the habitats of southeastern Connecticut.

Marvel at up-close encounters with frogs and turtles, learn about wildlife with their rehabilitation center, and explore forested trails.
